Used a 325 on the last highway job, pretty impressed. I like the visibility from the cab, don't have to twist around all shift which I appreciate. Controls didn’t take long to get used to even for guys less experienced. Only snag I had was with the electrics - had some weird warning lights. Wasn’t a massive deal but had to check fuses more than once. At least everything's easy to access, didn’t need to wait on techs. Not cheap to buy upfront but I think it's worth it for the fuel and maintenance savings.

The cameras on the 325… I didn’t think I’d care, but now I’m annoyed when I hop in something else and they aren’t there. You end up relying on them for tight spots and just general awareness. It’s not magic, it just saves you from doing the constant neck twist.

Also been using LiftAssist on some tier one jobs. The live lift weight readout is nice, and the audible alarm + red warning when you’re pushing limits is hard to ignore (which is the point). It keeps the lifting stuff a bit more straight-up, less guesswork. Only downside is you can get a little too dependent on the screen if you’re not paying attention to the actual feel of the lift.

Used the Cat 325 mostly for truck loading and some pipe work. The power is solid and the machine stays stable, even with some heavier pipe. Payload on the go is handy, don’t waste as much time double-checking loads. I haven’t had issues with reliability yet, but have only put about 500 hours on one - seems solid but too soon to really say for sure, I guess. Changing out attachments is quick. Bluetooth reader for tools is a nice bonus, though our app glitched once or twice, kinda annoying. Pricey unit, but what isn’t these days?

I ran the 325 for a few months last season and gotta say it's really solid all around. The hydraulics are smooth and there's enough grunt there for any trench or main load. I'm a fan of the build, nothing ever rattled loose no matter how hard I pushed it. Easy to get in and out for the daily checks, which saves me time. Only thing is I wish the seat was less stiff - after 10+ hour days it does get old on your back. Not a huge deal but you'll feel it. Fuel use is on point, haven't been running to the pump halfway through a shift. Wouldn't call it perfect but it's real dependable.

Been running cats since forever and the 325 keeps up with the good rep. It's tough, takes a beating and the undercarriage holds up better than some other brands I've had. Only real gripe is sometimes the hydraulic response lags a little, like if the filters need cleaning more often than you'd expect, but nothing crazy. Maintenance is straightforward, you can handle most stuff yourself. Comfort is decent but don't skip breaks if you're in that cab all day. Overall still my go-to for most dirt work.
